Corey Swensson has worked at Humphries Construction for more than 16 years where he started as a labourer and then worked his way through his apprenticeship to become a  qualified carpenter and then a foreman.  Then on the morning of the 10th of September 2012, Corey’s world changed forever.  Suffering two strokes and after 2 years of recovering Corey returned to work on a part-time basis and is now Humphries Construction Health & Safety Advisor. NEW RESTAURANT + BAR + FUNCTIONS

A Feilding icon, the former BNZ bank building on the corner of Manchester & Fergusson Streets, has had “new life” breathed into it.

It underwent some major seismic strengthening and refurbishment in order to be transformed into a new restaurant, bar and function centre. Aptly named The Strong Room, hailing from documents found in the demolition confirming the vault downstairs, was once referred to as a “strong-room …. for storing of records and vouchers”.

With an interesting and innovative platter and snack selection, as well as catering for lunch & dinner six days a week, The Strong Room opened for business in September 2013.

WE LOVE RECEIVING GIFTS…

Especially when it’s so unexpected, and delivered by a WHOLE team of brilliant rugby players.

So we were completely stoked when the Old Boys Marist Senior 1st dropped by one Friday, with a few of our old mates (by old we don’t mean in age of course), Mark, Phil, Joe, Lee, Roundy to present us with this framed shirt with our sponsored name on it.

Absolutely brilliant gift guys, we will hang this in our new office with alot of pride.

We chatted away with the boys, talking about success and striving for excellence, so we were equally as rapt when  we went out to Massey to see the boys play – and WIN WIN WIN they did! Great work boys, keep up that winning streak!
